Today a friend and fellow S.O.U.L. volunteer camp to the Shack to meet and spend some time with the student she has been sponsoring for over a year, Benard. This is always amazing to witness, as it is rare for a student to be able to meet the person who is paying half of their school fees.
When Lyn arrived just past 3 pm, she was accompanied by Kisule, the sweetest 5-year-old boy who is in the process of adopting and the reason for her stay in Uganda. The meeting became even more special when Benard’s mother recognized Kisule and revealed that he was her nephew!

Kisule’s mother, who died while giving birth, was her sister. The surprising announcement made the whole office burst out in excitement. Lyn was assigned to Benard at complete random, so now over a year later she found herself sitting next to her soon-to-be adopted son and his extended family. What a coincidence!!! 🙂

Tomorrow, off to Iganga to witness Muzaale Richard graduate from Busoga University with a Bachelors degree in Education. He will be the first in his family and the 7th in the village to be a university graduate. Looking forward to it, as it will be my first graduation…
A truly amazing way to round out a crazy/great/hectic week!  I definitely miss writing when work gets so busy, but this means that there’s lots to share including both our fish ponds selling over one ton of tilapia, crazy which doctor stories and I am now a master of the boda boda (motorcycle). Can’t wait to share….

Wow! Atta girl….. Darrell and Louise
naturally like your website however you need
to check the spelling on quite a few of your posts.
Many of them are rife with spelling problems and I find
it very bothersome to tell the reality on the other
hand I’ll definitely come back again.
